Derek started playing lacrosse in fourth grade and has played competitively ever since.  Beginning in the Lafayette High School feeder program, Derek quickly fell in love with the game.  His passion took him to "Kings Lacrosse Club" and "Redshirts Lacrosse Club" to finish out grade school... in addition to playing soccer, baseball, basketball, football, and wrestling.

Derek went on to attend De Smet Jesuit High School from 2013-2017 where he was a four year, three sport athlete. He was a 3 year starter and an All-American his senior year. Throughout his high school career, Derek traveled the United States in order to find the best competition in both field and box lacrosse.

He committed to Cleveland State University in January of 2017 to fulfill his dream of playing NCAA Division I lacrosse.  He spent the next five years in Cleveland, Ohio playing against the best competition in the world on a daily basis.  After serving as a 2x team captain, completing his MBA, and making some life-long friends, Derek came back to St. Louis, MO.

In the fall of 2022 and the spring of 2023 Derek went back and forth to Manchester, England where he competed with the best British lacrosse players at the National team training camps. He helped prepare their senior team for the 2023 summer World Games (Derek was born in England, making him an eligible team member).

Derek served as the assistant offensive coordinator at his alma mater, De Smet Jesuit High school, in St. Louis, Mo. where he helped lead the team to a 2023 Missouri state championship.

Derek Is currently an assistant coach for the Maryville University men's lacrosse program, an NCAA DII program in St. Louis, Missouri.
